Part II  Writing (90%)
Write a notice based on the following information.
Your company is going to invite Ms. Rizzi, a professor from Harvard University, to give a lecture at Room 101, East Hall on Monday, November 15, 2016 at 10 am. The topic of lecture is “Multinational and Globalization”. Please write a notice about this event.

Requirements:
1) Your notice should cover date, venue, lecturer, attendants and subject in right form.
2) Some information is suggested to be added, such as introduction to the lecturer, content of the lecture and so on.
3) You should write no less than 200 words.

Part I  Translation (10%)
Directions: Translate the following sentences into Chinese.
1. We would appreciate receiving a list of importers from you so that we may contact them directly.
2. In reply to your enquiry of September 8, we are sending you separately a copy of our catalogue together with our latest price list for the Electric Fans.

Part II  Writing (90%)
Write a business letter based on the following information.
Your company is LC Company, one of the largest leather trading companies in Netherlands, and has offices in all major cities in Netherlands. You have learned from a magazine called Global Trade that Yonghua Company in China is engaged in manufacture of leather goods. Your company wants to establish business relations with it. Write a letter to AC Company, asking them to send you catalogs and make quotations.

Requirements:
1) Your letter should contain company name, date, subject, opening, body, closing, signature, etc. in right format.
2) The letter should be no less than 200 words.

Part I  Translation (10%)
Directions: Translate the following sentences into Chinese.
1. The membership committee reported positive reaction to the membership meeting held during the two weeks’ period from November 15-26.
2. During discussion, it was suggested that the club plans an informal reception to welcome the new members.

Part II  Writing (90%)
Write a minute of a meeting based on the following information.
Write a minute of the Engineers’ Club Meeting that you have just attended. The following points should be covered:
1) The club plans a reception to welcome new members.
2) A team of three engineers will be selected from the club for overseas communication and the application deadline is June 25.
3) Preparations should be made for the election of new president and vice-presidents.
4) The secretary suggested that the Engineers’ Achievements Exhibit be postponed from July 3–10 to October 3–10.

Requirements:
1) Your minute should cover opening, body as well as check and sign, such as meeting date, venue, chairperson, attendees and note taker, etc.
2) Key outcomes from the meeting should be listed, such as decisions made, actions agreed and open issues.
3) You should base your minute on the outline and write at least 200 words.

Requirements:
1) Provide evidence to support your thesis.
2) Make it succinct, objective, informative and professional in tone.
3) You should base your writing on the outline and write at least 200 words.

Part II  Writing (90%)
Write a resume based on the following information.

Requirements:
1) Begin your resume by writing personal data at the top.
2) Summarize your education, including important facts that are applicable to the job.
3) Your resume should ideally not be any longer than one page but with at least 200 words.
